VP, Product Marketing

The VP, Product Marketing will be responsible for setting the vision, planning, implementing and managing our overall product, program and services marketing strategy. You will champion the voice of our core audiences and lead a team of marketers responsible for product messaging and go-to-market strategies and campaigns that drive product demand, adoption and advocacy. This role works closely with our program, product and learning/research teams.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned product marketer with a deep understanding of audience segmentation and development, an analytical thinker with experience making data-backed and insights-led decisions, and a storyteller who can design compelling stories about the value of our programs and services to a wide range of audiences .

You are a visionary who can give shape to a loosely formed product marketing function, steward culture, drive experimentation and human-design thinking while achieving goals that impact both our bottom line in the short-term and long-term goals that impact the lives of communities, educators and students . You are innately curious and obsessed with learning, have a passion for data, follow trends, skilled at the art of negotiation and have a desire to create win/win scenarios.

THE PERSON

Set vision for the product marketing function including strategic priorities, team structure and resource allocation

Develop architecture for org-wide product/program/service messaging and determine product-market fit; ensure alignment and cohesion with org-wide narratives and brand identity

Build and empower a collaborative, curious, audience-focused and product led team of sharp, T-shaped marketers and champions focused on driving demand, adoption and advocacy with our core audiences

Make data-driven and insights-led decisions to achieve org-wide recruitment, corps member and alumni engagement and development goals, and lean into org-wide learning agenda by designing and managing a structured, standardized and actionable feedback loop

Collaborate with program and product teams to design and give shape to a unified, audience-centered, programmatic experience and ecosystem of products; ensure alignment across messaging, promotions and other external facing activities

Serve as an evangelist for the organization’s product and programmatic experiences and our ability to impact the lives of children in the communities where we work.

THE MUST HAVES

Bachelor’s degree (or higher)

At least 10 years of marketing experience with 4+ years focused on product marketing or product development either in-house or within an agency

Experience building, growing and leading a team of T-shaped marketers

Highly analytical and data/insights driven

Ability to lead and communicate cross-functionally with product and program teams, as well as other departments across the organization

Performance driven with a leaning towards learning and experimentation

Critical thinker and problem solver

Steeped in design thinking and agile principles

Belief in the potential of all children and the desire to empower educators across the country.
