Senior Manager, Experience Design

We are looking for a self-directed, analytical, and creative individual with a passion for transforming operational and informational complexities into highly-intuitive processes and digital solutions.

As a senior experience design focused on transportation and delivery within our supply chain network, you’ll join a diverse, multidisciplinary team of world-class professionals. What you’ll do:

  • Raise the bar for UX Design at Wayfair
  • Refine and develop best practices and protocols for design methods and deliverables specific to the context of supply chain tools and processes
  • Serve as a critical ambassador for WDN design in the supply chain organization and throughout Wayfair
  • Closely collaborate with designers, researchers, content strategists, project managers, engineers, analysts and operations team members
  • Define the user experience for work streams from design/content/research perspectives leveraging industry best practices, a balance of quantitative and qualitative data, and competitive insight to drive decisions
  • Produce design deliverables with Sketch and InVision / Figma
  • Support and influence product planning and prioritization
  • Be extremely familiar with user experience design, product management, engineering, and agile development environments and be able to turn complex use cases into intuitive and shippable experiences
  • Establish design acceptance criteria for the product, and ensure that the implementation meets design standards
  • Play a leadership role in resolving unclear direction or unknown variables
  • The ability to engage in and drive strategy discussions. Weigh tradeoffs between business, technical, and user needs
  • Mentor designers with less experience to improve their skillsets
  • Mentor and partner with multi-disciplinary teams to leverage the best design strategies for specific context needs
  • Drive product planning and prioritization from a user perspective for an exciting global logistics roadmap

What you’ll need:

  • 10+ years of strategic and tactical product design experience
  • Fluency in current design tools applicable to web and mobile contexts, for collaboration, presentation, and execution
  • Communication and presentation skills. The ability to clearly present work, and articulate the rationale for the decisions that led to it
  • Facilitation and listening skills. The ability to maintain undivided attention and appreciate interpersonal differences. An openness to opinions that challenge beliefs, and be a willingness to evolve based on new information
  • The confidence and self-motivation to drive forward projects that will improve our users’ experiences.
  • An online portfolio that demonstrates an unfailing advocacy for the user and shows change agent influence within the organization
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking
  • Ability and enthusiasm to travel for research within our global logistics network
