Through a combination of original content, a personalized guidance engine, and an intuitive digital vault, people can say goodbye to sticky notes around the computer, old file folders underneath the bed, and out-of-date paperwork.
Everplans is primarily distributed via financial professionals to their clients, through insurance and financial services organizations to their policyholders and customers, and as a benefit employers can offer their employees.
About the Position
Everplans is looking for a Product Designer to take our web and mobile applications to the next level.
As our Product Designer, you will own user experience design (UX) and interface design (UI) of our webapp (consumer and enterprise) as well as our yet-to-be released mobile app (iOS and Android).
You’ll be the lead designer in defining the design vision of our platforms, and you will work closely with the Technology team as part of our Sprint cycle.
You’ll have the confidence and maturity to work independently as well as in teams to bring new ideas to the table. As a critical part of the Product & Design team and the company, you’ll help to foster a supportive, positive, and collaborative work environment.
This position reports to the Director of Product Management.
What you’ll do day-to-day:
Lead, define, and present the UX and visual design directions for our yet-to-be released mobile app (iOS and Android)
Work with Product Manager to enhance the webapp
Collaborate primarily with product management, engineers, leadership to create a great product experience for end users
Provide mockups and prototypes for the purpose of user research and iterate on them quickly based on feedback
Interpret customer needs into effective and thoughtful product solutions
Create user-centered designs by considering site analytics, customer feedback, and research findings
Provide design assets to the development team and work with developers to find solutions under constraints
Create and maintain style guides
Design solutions that drive measurable business objectives
Bring inspiring ideas into an energetic and collaborative team in a fast-paced environment
Who you are:
You have 6-7+ years of professional experience designing mobile and responsive web applications
You led the design of a mobile application in the last 3 years
You have a portfolio which demonstrates problem-solving in various phases of user-centered, responsive web and mobile app design.
You are proficient in Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, Proto.io and other modern design tools.
You have a degree in Design-related field.
You have worked in a cross departmental, collaborative environment (startup experience a plus)
You are familiar with accessibility standards and look to create accessible and inclusive design as much as possible.
You are able to travel to the New York City area up to once a month for in-person meetings (when it is safe to do so).
Experience in the Healthcare, Wellness, or Financial industry a plus.
Illustration skills are a plus.
Our offices are located in the Union Square/Flatiron area of New York City (though we are currently fully remote). The position includes full benefits (medical/dental/vision/401K), and competitive compensation. Location is flexible.
