Manager, Brand and Consumer Marketing

Manage all brand and consumer marketing efforts for the Miami Herald and its associated brands, including executing a strategic marketing plan to grow the audience and elevate the brand through partnerships, products and initiatives.

Job Functions:

  • Help define marketing priorities, investment strategies, measurement requirements, and deploy a go-to-market approach to drive new audience demand and build brand relevance
  • Develop strong integrated marketing plans for all digital and print products
  • Actively collaborate with editorial/ content, product, sales, business intelligence and other teams to deliver recommendations for cross-team projects
  • Drive end-to-end campaign orchestration from establishing the strategy to brief development, through creative and media execution, to measurement and reporting, ensuring clear communication throughout each step of the process
  • Serve as our brand evangelist across the network with ability to tell and teach our brand story
  • Manage agency relationships when applicable
  • Monitor campaign performance and optimize campaigns to achieve key results
  • Work with all teams on the marketing effectiveness of all campaigns
  • Act as liaison for all consumer marketing efforts by partnering with the Miami Herald newsroom in developing, supporting and executing initiatives to grow, engage and retain audience
  • Identify new, diverse community audience segments with marketing strategies and tactics
  • Build local and media partnerships that add value to the brand
  • Work within the central Marketing Communications department to align email marketing efforts, local and national
  • Participate in weekly/bi-weekly local leadership meetings
  • Partner with Product Operations and Creative teams for design and copywriting efforts
  • Oversee events teams

Required Knowledge, Education, Skills and abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising or Business.
  • 5+ years in the media industry with marketing experience, preferred
  • Strong critical thinking and strategic skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and fluency in Spanish is required
  • Strong project management/ orchestration skills and experience managing complex, projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Collaborative work style and experience working with cross-functional teams to drive results
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with creative teams to bring to life big ideas
  • Able to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders from our creative, editorial /content, product, sales and growth marketing teams
  • Proficiency with using analytics tools, ability to analyze data and make sound recommendations as needed
  • Brand/ Marketing Agency or technology growth company experience is a strong plus
